In lieu of a guest post, I’m just going to ask a question:
What is your best source for finding new things on the web?
Do you rely on search engines and find what you need when you need it? Do you check out the sites linked by Twitter pals? Read 200 blogs?
And a follow-up: What’s the coolest thing (blog, app, service, whatever) you’ve found on the web this week?
I’ll post my answer as soon as my wrists heal.

blogs, twitter, the Becta list-serves, I find that the networks I’ve joined can answer an amazing range of questions, can flood me with the vital information.
I know that without these networking tools I would simply not know enough to do my job well. I can not imagine what those who stay “out of these loops” think they are doing.

Most of my web discoveries are through friends, whether it’s shared via twitter or through del.icio.us. But recently I’ve also been discovering some sweet stuff through mixx.com as well as friendfeedback.com.
The coolest app I’ve found recently has been laterlooop.com, which helps in digesting the things discovered using the methods above. It’s a service that lets you save websites for later reading. It has an excellent iPhone interface including a feature that strips styles and makes it easier to read on the phone.
