I borrowed a nice Canon Rebel XTi and brought it with me to the final performance of a friend’s directing class’ projects. Hanging out with the actors before everything started, I got some good shots.
When “normal” people see a camera, you suddenly turn into one of the Untouchables. The actors, on the other hand, started doing things just hoping I’d get a good picture out of it, like this one.
I’m (finally) working on the new theme. It’s obviously a work-in-progress, so just appreciate the effort for now.
I’m starting with the default WordPress theme by Michael Heilemann. I’m not going to lie: I really dislike this particular theme. Read the rest of this article »
Remember Winnie Cooper? From the Wonder Years? Yes you do.
This may be old news to you, but the actress, Danica McKellar, has a BS in Math (just like me!). What’s weirder is that she answers math questions on her site. (You have to click on “Mathematics” on the left. It’s in a frame, boo.)
That is awesome beyond words.
So far she’s done a good deal of high school calculus and algebra, some physics, and proved that sqrt(5) is irrational.
She also wrote a book, Math Doesn’t Suck, which may be heavily influenced by Cosmo. I don’t know, I haven’t read it.
I’ve decided to take the plunge and move the blog to its own domain, whether I was “ready” or not.
Hopefully sooner than later, I will create a nice theme and layout for this site. For now, please accept this subtly changed version of Kubrik. I know it’s not great but I wanted to force myself into making the move.
Now that I have the rather improved features of WordPress at my disposal (I also considered Habari and Movable Type, but ended up sticking with what I knew) I’ll be able to write about more diverse topics and keep things well-organized. I feel like Blogger was preventing me from really expanding beyond the limited scope I had set for myself by not encouraging organization or really helping people browse by topic.
Please be patient as I reorganize the old posts and get things running over here.
Welcome to Coffee on the Keyboard.
I am gently setting my hat in the proverbial ring of blogging.
I write this drivel from time to time, but it’s mostly personal, and the topics are scattered at best. This is mostly a dumping place for things I learn or sites I work on.
I don’t have much, yet, but I’m trying, so head over to Game Independent and start flipping through the headlines.
